William Residence

Owners of a charming 1930s bungalow, our clients are embarking on an exciting extension to enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of their home. Planning to reside there for at least another decade, their goal is to create a space that perfectly aligns with their lifestyle and personal tastes.

We have been engaged to oversee the spatial planning for the entire home, along with detailed design and documentation for key areas, including the kitchen, bathrooms, cinema wall, lighting, flooring, colors, cladding and window treatments. Additionally, we will manage project coordination, working closely with the builder, draftsman and trades to ensure seamless execution.

Our approach was to craft a timeless design that balances elegance with practical family living. Inspired by Japandi aesthetics, the renovation will feature organic materials such as natural stone, refined woods and soft textiles to evoke a sense of calm and connection to nature. The design will integrate architectural elements from 1920s and 1930s bungalow and villa homes, preserving the home’s historic charm while incorporating clean, modern lines.

Our client envisions a seamless blend of traditional architecture and contemporary designer furnishings, favoring white oak, minimalism, and symmetry to enhance indoor-outdoor flow. They also prioritize functionality and ample storage solutions to accommodate their young family’s needs, ensuring the design remains both stylish and practical.

The draftsman has applied for building consent and we hope to commence construction as soon as possible this year.
